I think you need to remember that he loves you, and that means loving all of you, not just the "well" parts of you.

I think it's a good idea that you are helping him to be informed and involved with your care, but also leaving it to him to decide how much he does. This, I'm assuming, is the first bad patch you've been through whilst you've been with him and that is going to be hard, but try not to let the relationship be dictated by your illness. You are more than just your MH issues.
