I sort of understand your frustrations as I was in a similar situation a few years back. We'd try a medication and continue increasing the does until it was either decided it wasn't working well enough or the side-effects got too bad.
When I sat down to write a list of the psych meds I'd been on in the past for a new doctor I was shocked when I listed seven different antidepressants.
I know it's frustrating but the different classes of antidepressants work in different ways and it's trial and error what works for each person. It's difficult though to accept that it may take some time, when while your not on a medication that works for you your quality of life isn't as good as it could be.
