I am currently:

I'm 27 and have noticed little lines around my eyes since I was about 20. I think it's easier to be more critical of your own face than anyone else's - cos you can look close up in the mirror and spot the tiniest imperfection (and we are all imperfect!), whereas someone else will just see a face, whether smiling or whatever is up to you...
I'm pretty sure pics of blokes in magazines etc are as touched up as the female ones too - don't try to conform to some unlikely idea of perfection, just try to be healthy and happy and this is much more attractive in real life.
Try to eat healthily/sensibly and exercise, am a bit worried by you saying you want to be fatter?! Trying to overeat to put on weight seems like a bad idea - unless you're actually underweight in which case healthy, regular meals are better than eating junk to get fat! If you're a healthy weight, enjoy it - beer bellies make men look older too!
Apparently having a very short haircut makes thinning hair less obvious (cos it just looks like it's cut short).
Could I also add: I have often really fancied older guys, because they seem to be more mature and interesting (I'm talking guys in their late thirties when I was early 20's). I have also found them very attractive physically following on from a general attraction. A bloke who turned out to be 45 actually was so stunning I gawped in the street, and I never normally do that! (we met by chance later and I was soooo embarassed lol)
My boyfriend was very overweight when we first met, which I am not keen on, but I was attracted by his sense of humour, kind heart and gorgeous smile. He was just great fun and interesting to be around. I became sexually attracted to him because I just found him so attractive overall.

People find me hard to age; if I'm having a good day and laughing and joking, they think I'm younger, if anyone sees me on a bad day I can pass for older :/
Being comfortable in your skin and nice to be around is much more attractive (whether for a potential partner or friends) than a 'perfect' face/body.
In short - it really is true that what's inside matters.
