I'm also new here.
I have panic/anxiety attacks as well. When I first started having them 5 or so years ago, I basically tried to push them to the peripheral. I discounted them as anything worth worrying about. They worsened over time, though. I have tried a number of "breathing exercises" and things of the sort, but I haven't mastered myself enough for those to work well for me.
When it got really bad I saw my doctor, and we began to look for an anxiety medication that worked for me. I've had to go through quite a bit of trial and error, and I still don't feel exactly right, but it helps knowing that I at least have some kind of plan to make the panic stop.
