Putting a name onto something doesn't change essentially what it is.
It's how YOU feel that's important, not whether or not the illness you have has a name.
Would covering your scars up help you? People can't make fun of what they can't see. If you don't want to do this just think of some witty comebacks... For example: "Voldemort tried to kill me, multiple times" is one I find quite amusing, but I'm sure if you started a thread for 'witty comebacks' then people will have lots of good ideas.
How do the people in school know what your diagnoses is?
Do you have a trusted teacher you could discuss this with? Maybe suggest an assembly on mental illness awareness which may help people become more accepting. Although people in school can just be mean sometimes, just try and tell yourself you're better than that.
The diagnoses doesn't change how you feel, it doesn't necessarily 'mean' anything unless you let it.
I am not sure whether or not it is genetic, but that is possible.
You don't have to tell anyone that you don't want to/don't trust unless you're filling in a medical form or another form of application (such as I was advised to put it on my uni application - but that is to ensure you can get appropriate support whilst there and it does not affect whether or not you get a place)
