I think that making new years resolutions is not a bad tradition, because in my opinion it is a way to try and make it a good year. Even if you don't achieve any of the things you wanted to achieve, you started the new year with positive things on your mind.

My new years resolutions are:
to start a job training
find a vaulting group where I can improve
take a picture of myself every day
maybe become avaulting trainer (do weekend classes / workshops for this)
and that I make it through the year without having to be hospitalized.

I'm thinking about writing a letter to myself that I'm going to read at the end of the next year where I put in a list of my goals and something to reward myself for each goal that I achieved.
