I went to group therapy for a couple years, and I loved it.
I was surrounded by other teenage girls that were going through the same things as me, and could really relate. I moved away for college, and now I'm back but I'm in an age group that doesn't have a group, though I'm sure I could find one.
I still talk to the girls that were in my group. They're all really supportive and I can talk to them about everything because they already know everything about me.
I don't know if it's different then your support group, but what we'd do is that one therapist would oversee all of it and we'd just go around and say how our week was going, if we had any problems, and then everyone else would respond with ways to help or stories of how they could relate. It was really helpful to get someone else's perspective of my situation because they have been there.
Good luck if you go! You just have to be willing to share (but they won't pressure you at first). I love the support, and groups are a great way to get it.
