My gerbils eat everrything they can lay their grubby little paws on. To combat this I have bought them salt licks, wooden tunnel things, a coconut house, gnaw sticks, and give them many toilet rolls. They still continue to gnaw up the cage and stuff...
I used to have a plastic bridge, they ate that and so I had to give them a wooden one which they haven't eaten yet.
Gerbils are like any rodent though, their incisors never stop growing so they have to chew things or else they wouldn't be able to eat anything. (One of nature's flaws much?)
I don't know why I am writing a load of pointless crap but have fun reading it all.
I really don't understand why one of my gerbils is fat though. I think Vlad just eats more than Bram. Hmm...
