its important to have things to fill your time. if you have nothing to do or to occupy your mind, its easy to start rehashing events and feeling really bad and down about yourself or everything in general.
why was it that you quit your job? could you look for another one. or a volunteer one, if it was that the job was too stressful... also, make sure that you're still seeing friends, or making new ones. going to a class or club can be a bit stressful at first, but ultimately the interaction with others will lift your mood. and so will making friends
