I would complain about that. That is just shocking. Ask to see practice manager, or failing that PALS.
You have the right to complain - I know someone whose daughter last year had a baby who was born stillborn. She went to see her GP, and complained she was getting mastitis and leaking breast milk (which was very painful). One of the first questions she was asked is "are you still breastfeeding" when it was clearly written about her baby's condition. Her husband complained, and they got a written apology. You're no different, so complaining is worth it.
