I was about to say "eclectic," but that isn't really true. My musical taste is kind of fluid; I fall in love with certain bands, start to hate them a few months later, then maybe a year after that I rediscover them. At the moment I'm listening to a lot of Frank Zappa and Steve Vai (Zappa is experimental without being pretentious, mainly because he doesn't seem to take himself all that seriously. Vai is the only guitar virtuoso I know of who actually has any musical sensibility - his music is very melodic; the fact that he can play at superhuman speed is just a nice bonus).
I'm a huge fan of the blues, and have been since my dad introduced me to the genre when I was a kid (it's one of the few genuinely good things he's ever done for me), especially blues guitar; when I took guitar lessons, folk and blues were the first things I was taught, so I have a certain respect for it. I'm a huge fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King and Eric Clapton.
Other than that, as I said, my taste varies from time to time. I've been known to listen to Lady Gaga, Motley Crue (who I currently hate), Joy Division (who now bore me to tears), Tom Waits, Metallica, Mozart... almost anything really, so long as I'm in the mood for it.
