The can end up with you needing to recieve treatment in ICU and you have to take the seriousness of this on board. You NEED to get help. Whatever is causing this (which may be infection but may be something else but the fact that it could be a circulating infecion is something that needs to be looked into) is something that needs to be investigated. You cannot treat it at home without seeing a doctor as it could mean you need to be hospitalised on a drip and having antibiotics going straight into your vein; I don't know because I don't know exactly what is going on and cannot say. BUT, what I can say is you need to get help STRAIGHT AWAY and I'd personally suggest A&E. DON'T drive there and it's probably best not to get a bus so I'd get a taxi or get someone else to take you. As you are so unwell, if transport cannot be sorted out soon then it may be worth contacting an ambulance; if you ring NHS Direct they may be able to sort out transport for you if you don't want to ring 999 but you NEED to take this seriously. And by "if transport can't be sorted out soon", I mean soon as in pretty much straight away within the next couple of hours and call 999 if you worsen in that time.
