I've found that communities based around a hobby/game tend to be friendlier in general, even though the moderation isn't always strict. If you have anything you like to do in your free time (like crafting, video games, etc) maybe you could try joining one of those. I'm sorry you've had a rough time so far. I hope that you find somewhere new that has all the things you're looking for.
