I was in work at the time, on a late shift.
My mate came over to me and said America had been hit by a terrorist attack. I remember telling him the people who told him were lying because it just sounded too weird to be true.
Then at the end of the shift a few of us made jokes about how they should attack our work, thinking it wasn't real.
Got home, chucked the telly on and lo and behold, it actually happened.
Shock and disbelief swept over me instantly.
