I am currently:

AW im so sorry but i think you're making the right decision, my cat got really nasty cancerous tumour and she had to have two opps (with the help of insurance) plus other things and she was so porley from it all that i regret doing it in some ways because it never caused her pain or distress but now she gets a lot of pain and discomfort in different parts and got nasty infections from where she scratched at stitches. Shes fairly old too and i think id have rather just left her comfrotable and nurtured and spoiled her rotten and let her go when she was ready. Im not putting her through it again if it comes back. I think that your being a good owner, make him comfortable and love him lots (which im sure you do anyway) Im sorry you're going through this though i bet he's had a wonderful life amd will until the end with what you're planning.
