I have been sectioned a few times in various situations where I was out of control - not in control of myself and dangerous. Always I find myself seeing things in a different light when I am well though, what about you? I can always see how the doctors were concerned. But still, it doesn't take away how frightening and alone-ifying (new word of mine!) the experience can be.

Overall though I am very glad they did it and usually after a short time in hospital although I am not well I am in a much better place in my head. One thing that helps me is not thinking about it in an 'us' and 'them' kinda way.

The Mole was bewitched, entranced, fascinated. By the side of the river he trotted as one trots, when very small, by the side of a man who holds one spell-bound by exciting stories; and when tired at last, he sat on the bank, while the river still chattered on to him, a babbling procession of the best stories in the world, sent from the heart of the earth to be told at last to the insatiable sea.
Wind in the Willows.
