How were you diagnosed with dysthymia? Was it an online test or a doctor? I think you can bring up the test next time you see the doctor, they may have a similar one. I would agree with thumbelina; if you are lower than usual, then it might now be depression.
I think though as a general rule, if someone SI's then they are depressed :\
