That's an interesting idea, and I have been in situations where I wish there was a warning (nice to be watching a public television news program and see "coming up, people who blah blah blah" with a nice little clip of a arm and some sharp implements. I wrote a letter to the PBS station about how terrible it was, as an SIer to see that, etc, but they never responded. I thought for sure I would get a sincere apology and a travel mug). But I don't know how realistic it is. If you put a warning for SI or ED, where do you stop? And what merits a warning? Something that triggers one person won't trigger another, so how detailed does the warning have to be? "Some scenes of mild SI" or "This program contains some scenes that may be disturbing to you if you have ever been self destructive in your life time"? It really sucks to see something like SI unexpectedly. And the shows that I have seen that feature SI usually have some sort of PSA at the end, "if you or someone you know has this problem, there are ways to get help, blah blah blah" but don't you think that SI and stuff are kinda put into shows for the sheer shock factor (unless it is a family drama where a lesson must be learned). But now I am babbling, and I apologize. I wish that there was something to prevent the shock, because it is highly disturbing. But I obviously have no idea how that can be achieved.

Wish I had something more helpful to say,

Carrie
