Also, to be stereotypically English, whenever you have to do something (not even considered rude or inconvenient) that may possibly get in the way of somebody else, add 'sorry' on the end. eg. 'can i just use this parking space as i have an incredibly bad back and cannot really travel further than this to get where i want to go without being in extreme agony - terribly sorry to bother you...'
