these are women who have to do bikini waxes- they have seen worse :P . i dont think they have any code of conduct to tell your mum - i mean isnt that just health professionals? i doubt they will do that!
dont worry, and for what its worth i think your really brave doing it and think after one person has "seen" the scars it should make it easier. (i know after a friend saw mine once i began to think less about them and went sleeveless more often so i hope its the same for you)
