Unfortunately it is alot harder to stop self harming that you would expect. That doesn't mean that its impossible, it just means that you have to put alot of effort into it, and you have to sorta have a game plan for how you're going to resist. And its also important to make sure that you don't just sorta trade bad coping skills (ex. not cutting, but restricting your food).

It helps to make a list of distractions and things that let out emotion, and have whatever you need for those in a handy spot, so that when you get an urge you don't have to think too hard to come up with something to do instead. Also have a person or two in mind who you trust and can call to get support or to have someone listen to you.




this is my magical medicine cabinet. Left to right they contain: courage, hope, calmness, and strength.
