As for the 1-2-1 IM chat thing with Childline, I tried that one, but I gave up waiting after about 20 minutes.

Now, I thought that the Childline policy was "Up to and including 18 years old"? That was rude. Even if you were too old, s/he should've at least gave you another number to call.
