I HATED being on 1:1 when I was IP, it was seriously horrible but you have to remember it's for your own safety. To get off it I had to prove I wasn't going to harm myself or abscond from the unit, however badly I wanted to do so. Be honest with them, ask for support when you need it and build up their trust again. You need to cooperate with them, if you fight it you're less likely to get off it. Weeks of pleading got me nowhere but when I started to cooperate they finally agreed to put me on 5 minute obs for an hour a day, which was my chance to show them I could manage and we built up from that until I was on general!
