I agree that it would be unhealthy for you to depend on a drug for your wellbeing. Luckily, psychedelics such as mushrooms are not very addictive and they can provide meaningful insight into your life. The claim that "drug's can't help" is not all that ridiculous; I know this first hand because one particular psychedelic helped me through a personal crisis. I do believe that psychedelics can offer help in some situations, but this comes with a certain caveat:
It is good that you say you don't plan on doing it again anytime soon. This is how it should be - as long as you treat the psychedelic with respect and think of it as an introspective tool rather than as a recreational substance, you can stay relatively safe. Otherwise, psychedelic use can turn into abuse.
I will offer realistic advice, rather than tell you that you shouldn't use this drug again: if you do decide to use mushrooms again some time in the future for personal exploration (which is completely up to you), make sure you wait plenty of time, make sure it is really what you want before you do it, make sure the setting is not recreational (i.e., tripping for fun at a party), and perhaps most importantly, make sure that you have a sober person with you at all times.
