I don't think I can offer any "great advice" but I can tell you about my own experience, maybe that helps...
I'm not a regular drinker. I drink every couple of months, but if I do it, I do it right. Sometimes, I feel great and at other times, drinking makes me feel like s***. It has nothing to do with what I drink or how much because I know my limits and don't drink more than I can handle.
It's just... for me, I guess it's the guilt. I feel guilty for drinking even when I keep within my limits and that is what f***s the mood up.
All advice I can give is: Try not to cut when you're drunk because you don't have proper control over your body anymore and it might end up much worse than you thought it would.
