I think the fact that you are asking this, means a part of you is aware that this is not a suitable situation.
My suggestion would be to contact a Dr or Psych to see what can be done to help you so that you feel you can be more active, and can remember actions beyond 10 mins.
I would also suggest contacting your course Tutor and letting them know what is going on, as at the moment you are likely to fail the upcoming exams. I think for you, taking a break from the course so that you can obtain help and build yourself back up to coping with the course may be the best action - then, if you can re-enter the course so that you can do the work you have currently missed and be back on track for the exams.
As you are in the UK, I am of course working on the assumption that you are at Uni. I know the above is possible at Uni as I have done something similar in the past. Yes, it will mean graduating later than you may have otherwise liked, but it enables you to take on board what is currently going on, act on it by getting help and then going back to the course when you are more capable of obtaining a grade you deserve.
