I don't know, I just never warmed to him. Maybe it's because I've always been a huge Snape fan, so I sided with him.
I soooooooooooooo wanted Snape to be evil though. I really, really, did. It still pains me. In fact, the entire final book pains me. I don't even read it now. I just make up my own ending.
