the adult wards, in my experience, aren't as scary as you imagine. if you're admitted and you're concerned, talk about your fears to a nurse and get some reassurance and support. 18 is young to be on an adult ward which is why they try to avoid it if they can, but if you're at risk you might benefit from that extra support.

as control freak said, if you don't want to go in, think about other forms of support that you might find useful in the meantime, which might involve having your parents around to look after you and keep an eye on you whilst you're in crisis, and trying to arrange regular appointments with one key person from the crisis team or EIT.
