Well, for me I only had one choice. I needed to stay at home because I couldn't, and still can't, afford to move out. Scotland might get free tuition, but the support package is pretty crap.
I would suggest going through this checklist (in no particular order):
- which course do you prefer? Look at all the years, look at options to do outside modules, etc
- which location do you prefer? Have you visited to get a 'feel' for them both?
- look at the clubs and societies on offer, see if any take your fancy, and if a gym is something you want compare the prices because there can be massive differences
- look at accommodation, not just uni-owned for first year, but in later years. Can you afford to live in both places?
- look for things like supermarkets. Yeah, being in the city centre might be great for nightclubs, not so great for doing a weekly shop!
-look at library/other study facilities, some can be a lot better than others
