Im sorry that youve had to go through that i do understand what its like to be in your situation. Its not fair on you on coming out of hospital you expected your dad and mum to be there to support you and listen to you when you might need to talk to them.

I hope you can and i hope you can talk to your mum if its hard to talk to your dad.

I also understand you saying you shouldnt need your parents because your 36 but at this moment having them to support you is important, im 44 and in charge of my own life but i guess still having parents trying to care about me is a good thing im lucky i have my brother he is more supportive.

Your right you shouldnt have had to wake your plastered dad to get him to bed, it should be the other way around that your dad was there to support you. Maybe he doesnt know how to cope with what your going through, my dad certainly didnt know how to deal with me and our relationship was stormy.

My dad does exactly the same although he is now in spain my parents moved there in 2000 my dad still drinks heavily 1 to 2 bottles of wine a night and wisky often staying up until 1-2am in the morning until he falls asleep downstairs. Your right your dad shouldnt be drinking that much i hope you can manage to talk to him about it and ask him to support you more .

I struggled with my parents getting them to understand my depression and suicide attempts and self harm, they still dont now , i didnt find out why he drinks so much .

people here do give a ****.

Dave
