What is the reason you started self harming? I needed a way to express my feelings because I wasn't allowed to. I hated myself and wanted to punish myself.
Does self harm help you feel in control of your life? yes.
Does anyone know that you self harm? my husband and my sister know.
If so, did you tell them willingly or did they find out? I told them both but only after I knew they were going to find out anyway. I hid it for a long time.
What is the reason you don’t/didn’t tell anyone? I didn't want to disappoint the people I love. I was afraid they would see me differently, I didn't want to have to try to explain WHY, I knew telling someone would make me have to work on it and I wasn't sure I was ready. I didn't want to make MY problems anyone elses problems.
