Hi Anne-welcome to RYL by the way!
You see at the bottom of your post are the tiny quote and quote plus buttons and an edit button? Well on the first post of every new thread there will be an additional hug button alongside those but it's only there on the first post of a thread so that's why it's missing on most posts.
