That's really nice to read. I know what you mean about noticing it more. I go through phases of noticing my parents being nice or not to me and I think it all depends on me rather than them changing their behaviour and I know how nice it feels to notice it and feel cared for.
I guess all new feelings are uncomfortable for a while whilst you get used to them.
