I am currently:

I had the opposite problem When I finally got diagnosed after my parents put my mood down to mew just being a "miserable cow" they didn't want me to go on the medication I was recommended.
I just explained to them, calmly, that it was my choice and I wanted to give it a try. So if you just explain to your parents why you don't want to go on the meds it might help them to understand you better. As behindblueyes says, maybe try just councilling to begin with. It may be that you don't need to take any pills.

I was looking through my photo album today and came across a blank page. I reminded me how much there is still to come in life. It gave me hope for the future. I've been through so much and I'm still here so I'm going to keep going and fill that empty page with my good memories.
