This is quite relevant to the simmilar discussion on
flaming , and liek I said there (linking to this thread) it is all to do with the context of the words and the intention of the author... In real life our tone of voice is everything. "Thank you so much" can be made to sound incredibly pleased or sarcastic via tone of voice, but this cannot be easily conferred through a virtual medium which obviously leads to some misinterpretation...
