if you think you've got syptoms matching bipolar then you've got some pretty specific and/or symptoms, that I doubt will just be brushed aside. a lot of those symptoms don't match with normal emotions and symptoms. if you, your friend, and your mom think there is something there and you've researched it there probably is. I don't think there is anything wrong with saying "I think I'm bipolar." if your shrink gets on your case for assuming that you need a new shrink anyways ^^ but, do listen, they do know more than websites, and as mentioned there is a spectrum of bipolar and a lot of different kinds. best of luck!
