Like waiting in the dark said, can you talk to a professional about what's going on for you at the moment? In terms of practical advice, could you set yourself up a routine in terms of sleeping and stick to it? For example, going to bed at 10pm and getting up at 8am, even if you don't sleep then, and not sleeping at any other time? It might help your body figure out what time it is meant to sleep and might help it get into a regular sleeping pattern. Could you put your tool back into the cabinet and leave it there? Rather than having it in your room or where ever? Or even better, put it somewhere where you can't access it. But somewhere where it's not so easy to get at.
