A repeat prescription form has the list of medications (or the majority of the medications) that you're currently on. They usually have tick boxes at the side where you tick what you need, you then hand this into the local doctors who will sign it, then you pick it up and get it changed at your chemists. They say to wait upto 3 days to get repeat prescriptions so make sure to put the prescription in a few days before you run out of your medication(s).

A normal prescription which is handed to you by a doctor (whether it by via phone in which case they'll leave it at the doctors sugerys desk) you can change straight away as it's already been signed.
