Not everyone is the same or reacts the same way after dealing with something like this, so this is a tough one. What I would tell you is, if you have the time, be patient with yourself. It isn't uncommon to have trouble sleeping at night after a trauma.
It may also help to see and talk to a doctor who can prescribe a medication for sleep to take for a short time or until you feel you don't need it anymore.
