It sounds like the guy was abusing a position of power, which well does constitute rape. I have highlighted a bit of text I found online here:

"Consent cannot be given: when the perpetrator is abusing a position of trust, power or authority or when the victim expresses, by words or conduct a lack of agreement to engage in the activity"
