i can understand that you must be feeling really scared and worried about telling her.
However although each case is different it probably won't be the first time she has heard of that type of thing because there will be many other patients with similar symptoms/problems.
i know my saying that probably doesnt ease your anxiety about telling her and that is understandable but i do think you really do need to be honest with her or at least as honest as possible.
Its really important or she cant help you properly.
i also think Pixiedust's idea of printing out the post is a good idea if you cant talk verbally as it explains things very well here.
Or if you don't want to print the actual post why not write something similar trying to explain to her the things you want to say.
You could even perhaps write that you are scared of telling her in the letter and im sure she will understand that.
For most people it is a big thing to have to tell someone but it is also very brave and can be well worth it in the long run.
Also i think she really needs to know about the voice even if it is just your own cos it seems it is causing you distress and there is probably things she can do or can help you to do to make it more managable and so it can be dealt with better and not be allowed to make you feel so bad.
i really hope you find the courage to share with her.
Good luck.
