Do your parents know or have they seen your scars?

Somebody mentioned above about if you don't cover up then the Teacher might see. The likely result of this is that your parents will end up being contacted, as I believe by law if you are under a certain age then they are required to?

If this is the case then you will probably be offered councilling and support through the school.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to scare you off the idea of not covering up, just that this is something you may have to deal with, which, if your parents don't know about already, could be a difficult situation for you to be in.

At the end of the day though, as everyone else has said, if you feel comfortable showing scars (I don't agree that showing new cuts is a good idea under any circumstances really) then as much as it might scare you, you shouldn't be put off and hide them just because you are worried what others may think.

I went through school having to have mine on show due to where they were and while it was difficult at first, it did get easier and apart from a couple of people, no-one ever really questioned me over it.
