I overdosed on Benadryl once. It was not a fun experience at all. I threw up a lot (the pills were coated hot pink, btw -- not fun to clean up, my stuffed animal is still stained even after being through the wash twice), made a complete idiot of myself because I apparently had no idea where I was or what I was doing, and completely failed a presentation the next day because it turns out that the half life is quite long when you take to much of it. I also discovered that the next morning my attempts at notes in class were actually just dots, but I couldn't quite tell at the time, which was actually quite terrifying. So the point is that I'd strongly recommend against ODing on Benadryl. And while it may seem like any easy way out, chances are you'll throw up most of it, and just have a very unpleasant experience.
That said... Benadryl's not really the issue here. I think it would be a really good idea for you to talk to a doctor or therapist about how you're feeling. You also need to get out of the house more. You can't just sit at home wishing someone would come and make you leave - you've got to take some initiative here. Feeling like that is really common in depression, and one of the best things you can do to counteract that is what psychologists call "behavioral activation," which just means getting up and doing things. Depending how much you're doing at home, that might mean starting with something as small as cleaning up a bit, or making yourself a meal, or it might mean something like finding some volunteer work to do, or if you're religious at all, it could mean getting more involved at Church/temple. I'm sure there are plenty of things you can get to by walking or taking the bus -- you just have to look for them a bit.
