delusion?

Random question but just wondering....

If you tell yourself something so much, and deep down you know its wrong, but you convince yourself so much that it is right/correct that you actually start believing it - what would you call that? is it a delusion, or a specific form of delusion, or a personality trait/problem? and can it be a symptom of a mental disorder or a cause for concern?

I'm not sure either but I do it as well. I can think of something that I want or that I wished had/hadn't happened and if I think about it enough it almost seems true. I don't go and make it known to people though. If I believe something it true when it isn't, I don't tell people coz of that very small part that knows it's not true. If that makes sense :/ So yes your not alone but I'm not sure what it would be really. I don't know if mine is just coz or if it's part of MH.. *hugs*
