abcess and feeling ill *help*
nhs direct website was crap. one thing told me self care and the other 999! lol
Basically after 2 days of SEVERE toothache and a max out of painkillers (within proper limits) i ended up in a&e as i had two choices...a&e or to overdose...the pain was unbelievable. Anyway, saw a doctor and he gave me anti-biotics, and two lots of painkillers. the next day i woke up and my chin had swollen up. So i phoned the out-of-hours dentist who told me that the anti-biotics could make things worse before they get better which was fine. Even so i still look like flipping Shrek (without the green obv) But today i started feeling physically ill. ya know that flu like feeling where ya can feel the infection. And ive been getting very nauseted (sp) Basically im worried the infection is bursting into my blood stream. Am i over-reacting? |
Nope, not over reacting one bit. Are you running a temperature? If you have a temperature combined with feeling nauseated (or throwing up) you need to get checked out to make sure that the infection has not spread into your blood stream - called Sepsis. Oral infections have a high chance of this happening becuase the mouth has so many vessels and such.
You should go back to the A&E where you were seen before. AD |
no ,my temperature is reasonably ok, maybe a tiny bit up.
got an appointment with the dentist in a couple of hours so will see what happens then thanks for the advice |
