Stitches

I have had 6 stitches in both my feet and just wanted to know whether I can take the bandage of to air them. I have cotton stitches I think.

When you got your stitches the doctor should have given you some papers telling you how to care for your feet. He should have also verbally explained it to you. What instructions were you given?

The nurse did not give me anything she just said I can shower but not to get the stitches to wet as they can come undone.

Keep them in for 7 days.

Thanks for getting back to me

If you can have a shower you can probably take the dressing off :)

Hope they heal well,

Thank you tinkerbelle for getting back to me. Yeah I have put a tubigrip on now so more air can get to it. It is still bleeding slightly when I catch it with my shoes but I am making sure I keep the wound clean.

I would advise kepig the wound clean and it should be ok to remove the dressing i you are sitting still. However, I would put a dressing back on if you are moving around to help prevent catching them.

Take care
Kim

just to update you.

I have been keeping an eye on my stitches and one has fallen out of each foot is this normal. Is this a sign that I can have them out I am a bit worried.
