What Should I Do?

I'm pretty sure that one of the cuts on my thigh, the one that was stitched last Saturday, is infected.

I showed my mom, but she didn't seem to be worried.

I would show her again, but there are some more recent wounds.

I have a doctor's appointment Monday at 12:15 PM to get the stitches there and in my arm out.

Should I just wait until then to get this sorted out, especially seeing as that's probably the earliest I could get in to see the doctor?

How should I take care of the wound?

Why do you think it is infected?

Unless you go to a walk in clinic, that prolly is the earliest you could be seen, so that should be ok.

The doctor should have also given you follow up care instructions on a piece of paper. You want to keep the wound clean, and dress it with antibacterial cream and gauze, changing it at least every 24 hours or more often if it is leaking fluids.

is there any puss coming out of it. The hospital normally say if you have any problems with the stitches is to go back. The only thing you can do is clean the wound daily with a sterile liquid and see how that goes.

Me personally I would go back to the hospital your choice really.

There seems to be a bit of yellowish stuff coming out of the wound, there seemed to be more before.

The wound looks a bit dry, but there isn't much light right now for me to look at the wound very well.

That hurt really bad when I walked, for the first few days or so, and I've had stitches in my thigh before and that didn't happen, so I don't know why that happened this time.

I feel kind of lightheaded, but I'm not sure if that's related or not.

Is it today you are getting them checked?

dying__deep__inside 16-07-2007 10:30 PM

Yeah.

The doctor didn't say anything about that being infected.

However, some of the scar tissue had formed over the stitches.

Whatever.

Hmmmm, bad wounds will sometimes look nasty as they are healing. If the doctor looked at it and thought that there prolly wasn't an infection, then you should be ok.

Thanks, Angel Dust.

Yeah, that was worse than the other ones, so that could be why that happened or part of why.
