I can't take it any longer. everyday i think about taking drugs again. i can't get over it. i want again. its the only way to feel better, now that i can't cut.

someone please make me feel better. im so pathetic.

I wish I could make you feel better as having seen your posts of late, it seems you are struggling alot and having to fight so many things.

I think everyday about the [XXXX] source I have but manage to resist somehow and I know you are strong enough hun.

Have you heard anything from the other hospital who you were being referred to? Perhaps it is time for another chaser call to them.

yeah i have had some appointments with a psych and a psychologist, but im still not sure if they will take me. they will probably send me to someone else. like everybody.

It's great they are going to see you. Are your appointments soon?

with the psychologist is on tuesday and with the psychiatrist in next wednesday.

btw, whereabouts in Greece are you from. Only ever been once and that was because I studied Ancient Greece as part of my ancient history A-level although this was many years ago now. Such a fantastic and incredibly beautiful country with an amazing impact on people's lives, even now.

Irene, they can help you but you have to be honest with them. At the end of the day they cannot do the work for you but they can definitely help. Please hang on until you see them. It is only a couple more days. Tell them what is going on for you and that you are craving drugs again.

the psychologist knows that i want them again and she told me that im psychologically addicted and that i should tell my doctors to give me the right meds, in order to feel the way i feel when im under the influence. but i doubt it can be the same feeling with the meds.

I live in Athens, i live very near to the centre. where did you go no reason?

Irene, it is not just about fighting off the urges to take the drugs, it is about finding out why you want to take them and working on that. I've had to do that with alcohol.

I have not had a drink in more than 14 years.

Susan is very wise Irene! I have similar issues with alcohol - not physically addicted at the moment but crave the release, the feeling temporarily better, etc. Psychological addiction is hard!

btw I went to Athens - it was boiling hot (went in July when there was a bit of a heatwave) but such a beautiful, historic city. We also took a day trip to an island, I think it was Aegina. We went to Delphi and all thoses touristy type things aswell.

i know its very hard, but we will get through the psychological addiction right?

I know, it's hard. Drinking right now in fact. You are strong enough and I am told that the longer you go without things (eg cutting, etc), the easier it becomes to resist but I do agree with Susan that we need to figure out why we feel we need it so much.

Greece is a beautiful country, you are very fortunate although perhaps don't appreciate it as much as the occasional tourist/visitor.
