BABY STEPS!!! (The "Little Things" thread)

Many times we hear and use the term "baby steps". It is used when we are trying to encourage eachother to take things slowly and remember that progress does not have to be made in leaps and bounds.

Little baby steps in the right direction are so so important to all of our recoveries. Unfortunately we so often forget the little things we do that ARE positives and DO go towards us getting better.

So thats why im making this thread. Its place to write down the little things you did today or in the last few days or so that were and are positive but that usually go unmentioned because we think they dont warrant a new thread or that they arent important enough. These are just as important as the so called "big" things we do!

I worked out today that the things I want and the things I need aren't necessarily the same, and that I can get the things I need after I get the things I want, but it probably won't work the other way round.

Despite crying through ever mouthfull i did eat today

:)

~ 2 IT guys came into the office today to sort our computers. [migrating to another network]
I didn't freak out. I stayed in the room, and my child feeling state noticed the men were actually really friendly and helpful, and not scary at all.

~ And then I met my befriender this evening, and I asked if we could meet at Hampstead Heath next time. That's a real step forward for me.

~ I was assertive when I got in from work today, and said to my flatmate that I needed to use the internet [am still on dial-up] and that was ok, as she was feeding the baby anyway. Normally I would sulk, as it were, and not ask, and feel aggrieved and resentful....

AD

Margo 19-04-2007 11:32 PM

No, because i wouldnt know what to say to him. But thats not what matters. I know they cant talk to me. But the next best thing is that they at least ask. And he did after 18 months!

Queen Crabbit 20-04-2007 08:10 AM

Bout bloody time too!

I had the worst urges I've had in a very long time & I didn't cut. I'm probably on about something like 5 weeks now.
