stuggling and want to go home

hi im really stuggling and want to go home im curruntly at a unit been here 3months and its now starting to bore me im not allowed out on my own and feel trapped im missing my indepence its now gone when ihave to have staff with me wherever i go im gettin used to them being there i need reason why not to just walk out and go home pls help me?

walking out will just prolong the time in a unit, i found that out the hard way. you will be found and maybe sectioned, if you arnt already and taken back.
sorry if i sound harsh, but ive had alot of experience in this and it wont solve anything.
talk to one of the staff there, they are there to help and will help you through this difficult time.
please talk to someone.
be safe hun, hang in there

thankyou becky im here for 2yrs or more its a specialsed unit i been here 3 months im being triggered byth sunshone i just want to go out and do all the stuff i did when i was out i feel trapped and lost i dont want to be sectioned just want freedom

Cacoethes 16-03-2009 09:51 PM

i know you want to get out
units are no fun
but you are there to get help, and it will be better in the long run, trust me
2 yrs may seem like a long time, but its really not in the grand scheme of things. think of all the years you have ahead of you.
think of it as getting it all out of the way.
for example, i went into hospital for only 6 days because i told my outreach worker i was struggling. if i had left it to get worse i could have been in a lot longer.
just hang in there
you will be ok

Sweetie all that must be really hard to deal with, you need to work with the staff to help make yourself get better and once you improve things wont seem as bad as they do now. Like people have said running away will just make things worse. If you tell them how you feel, how you want to run away rather than doing it they will be so proud.
Keep holding on hun.

you should talk to someone at the unit rather than just walking out.
thats all i can really say
try to stay there and talk about how you are feeling, i know i sound a bit like a nurse or something but thats all i can suggest
be safe hun
